Overview
Mikumi national park is inhabited by spectacular animals such as Lion, Elephants, hippopotamus, Leopard, African buffalo, Wild dogs, over 400 bird species and many others. But also this safari trip will take you all the way to the Udzungwa mountains found in south-central Tanzania near Mikumi national park. The mountains are mostly within Iringa Region, south of Tanzania’s capital Dodoma. The Udzungwa Mountains are part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, and are home to a biodiverse community of flora and fauna with large numbers of endemic species
Itinerary
Day 1 Dar es salaam to Mikumi national park
Early in the morning, you’ll be picked up from your accommodation or airport then drive to Mikum National Park. Breakfast will be served at Chalinze on the way to Mikumi. After arrival in Mikumi National Park, you will inter the park and start your unforgettable game drive in the majestic Mikumi national park. It’s not a coincident to spot wild animals such as Lions, Elephants, wildebeests, Impalas, Warthogs, Giraffes, Zebras, Buffalos, Hippos, Crocodiles and so many more. You will continue your game until lunch time where lunch will be served at Mikumi Bandas Restaurant. Thereafter you will proceed with game drive for few hours and start heading to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and cover night stay.
Day 2 Hiking Udzungwa mountains and depart to Dar es salaam
Morning after breakfast you will checkout at your accommodation with packed lunch box and start heading to Udzungwa Mountains. After arrival you will start hiking on the Udzungwa mountains taking Sanje route for proper viewing of the four stage waterfalls. Udzungwa mountains is rich in biodiversity and has so much to offer. In the afternoon hours you will be served with lunch and thereafter you will start journey back to Dar es salaam. ETA 2100 hours in Dar es salaam
