About Katavi
Katavi National Park is Tanzania's third-largest national park and one of its most remote and pristine wilderness areas. Located in the western part of the country, Katavi offers an authentic African safari experience with minimal tourist crowds.
The park is characterized by its vast floodplains, seasonal lakes, and dense woodlands. During the dry season, the Katuma River and Lake Chada become the focal points for wildlife viewing, attracting large herds of buffalo, elephants, and hippos.
Katavi is known for its massive buffalo herds, which can number in the thousands, and its large population of hippos. The park also supports healthy populations of lions, leopards, and other predators, making it an excellent destination for wildlife photography and game viewing.
